Is There Really No Cure?

My doctor said that even though the white patches on my eyes may be treatable with topical and steroids, there is not much hope for the patches on my fingers. It is pretty frustrating. Doing some research, I found the below possible treatments with various effectiveness, so some of you may find it helpful:
1. Phototherapy: Phototherapy is one of the most common treatments that I found for vitiligo. This treatment involves exposing your skin to ultraviolet light. Actually I read that some sun exposure can help also. Nevertheless it is less effective on fingers etc.
2. Medications: Some areas of the body may respond to medications: topical steroids, calcineurin inhibitors, and psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) therapy.
3. Surgery: Surgery involves removing the white patches of skin and replacing them with unaffected skin. This is taking it a bit too far I think but some people may use it as a last resort.
