There is no one gene associated with Vitiligo, it is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. It was first discovered around 1950 by Tindel that Vitiligo has a genetic component. It is a complex genetic relation though, a combination of 50+ genetic markers impact Vitiligo.
It was shown that the co-occurrence of Vitiligo in identical twins was around 23%. Same study showed that you have a 7% chance of being diagnosed with Vitiligo if you have a first degree relative with it.
